For the Love of Fashion: A DIALECTIVE Documentary at the producers Club

For the Love of Fashion tells the story of how DIALECTIVE, a nonprofit collective, was founded in New York City by four graduating seniors from the class of 2023 who were passionate and determined. Taking control of their future, these designers organized a runway show to showcase the diverse talents of their peers.

DIALECTIVE serves as a guiding light for a new wave of independent designers who are distinctly different, aiming to create opportunities and build networks for graduates, fostering a sense of community in an industry that is often individualistic and competitive. This documentary follows the journey of DIALECTIVE's beginnings and their first runway show, illustrating the strength of collaborative efforts driven by a love for fashion.

The film has been selected for the New York Independent Art Film Fest and will be shown at the Producers Club on November 17th.

Zhexuan Katherine Hu is a fashion designer, artist, and filmmaker based in NYC. In 2022, she co-founded DIALECTIVE, a collective of designers that celebrates a new generation of uniquely talented and independent individuals.
